This is one of the easiest projects I've ever done and yet one of the most impressive. You can easily personalize this by spelling out your favorite word or arrange them however you like. Here's a few FYI'S before you get started. If you decide to create an oval or circle you want to make sure butterflies are flying away from the center. Also, I used the pins to get a shadow effect and it makes the butterflies look more realistic because they look like they are fluttering up against the wall. This was just my preference but you can tweak it to make it work for you!
- Draw and cut out all the butterflies so that you don't have to constantly stop to make more. I used about 140 for mine and the oval measures out to 6X5 ft. I also folded the paper in halves so that i did't have to cut out the entire butterfly.
- Put a pin through the center of the butterfly. Turn over the butterfly and put a drop of hot glue at exit point to secure the pin in place.
- Put up your mirror or draw your template onto the wall. If you decide to spell something out like "love" or "faith", use chalk because it's easy to wipe off of your wall. The trick to placing them is to cluster butterflies at the center point and space them out as you go. Hammer the needles in gently so you don't mess up the pearl. Voila`! You now have yourself a one of a kind piece of your own :)
